The Keeper of Three Keys: A Story of Neurodiversity, Strength and Community Impact

In the lead up to ADHD Month and the theme that the ADHD Foundation is celebrating in 2026 is the Many Faces of ADHD. As we celebrate our community of volunteers and our community here is a story of how the community create impact for people.

Eamonn Fallow grew up navigating challenges that many children with learning differences face every day. Dyslexia made reading difficult, dysgraphia turned writing into a constant struggle, and dyscalculia made numbers feel impossible to grasp. Traditional classrooms often felt overwhelming, but on the football pitch, everything changed.

Movement made sense. Patterns were clear. Angles and timing felt instinctive. As a goalkeeper, Eamonn discovered that the same neurodivergent wiring that made reading, writing and maths difficult also gave him exceptional strengths in spatial awareness, creativity and problemsolving. This realisation became the foundation of the Eamonn Fallow Goalkeeper Charity, an organisation dedicated to empowering young people with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.

The charity’s mission is simple and powerful: help children understand that their minds are not broken. They are brilliant, capable and full of potential. Through movementbased learning, mentoring and strengthsfocused programs, the charity provides a safe space where neurodivergent young people feel confident, valued and understood.

As ADHD Month approaches, another inspiring story rises to the forefront.

Declan Harland: A Young Leader Running for a Reason

In 2026, Declan Harland, a student of SEDA College WA, set out to complete a remarkable 60 kilometre Run for a Reason. SEDA College’s handson, sports focused learning environment had nurtured Declan’s determination, resilience and commitment to community service. He wanted his run to make a difference. He wanted it to support causes close to his heart. Donate to his gofundme page here https://gofund.me/b869e1ff1

Declan chose to raise funds for several charities, and the ADHD Foundation Australia is deeply honoured to be one of them. The Foundation is proud to be part of this extraordinary 60km endeavour, standing alongside Declan as he champions awareness, inclusion and support for neurodivergent Australians.

By the time you read this story, Declan’s run has already taken place. Every kilometre reflected his compassion, his courage and the values instilled in him by his school and his family. His Run for a Reason became a powerful preevent leading into ADHD Month, helping raise awareness for ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia across Australia.

Declan’s commitment mirrors Eamonn’s mission. Both young men show that when individuals act from the heart, they create meaningful change. Their stories remind us that awareness grows not only through organisations, but through everyday champions who choose to step forward, speak up and give back.

A Heartfelt Thank You to SEDA College WA and the Harland Family and wider community.
